Visual Thinking

We had to try to create a letter form on many different objects at different angles and distances. This was pretty tricky to do. We took a photo of the boxes together and in photoshop layered the letter M on top. We then kept the boxes still whilst trying to line up the type from the photograph to details on the individual boxes.

This was the final outcome. I think it works well and communicates the letter but looks a bit tacky probably put this down to not enough time.

No news is good news

A research photo taken for the project reflecting No news is good news. A section of my research that i decided i wanted to go into depth was the graphs and figures based upon eco life/ global warming. It didn't take me long to find this wall based in leeds in a location where many people pass it everyday. This is political trying to spread the warning.

Above picture shows the two images on the left i was given to advance based on two separate words, to show development.

The first lines word was size.

I thought the big and small type represented this the best but i decided to play with the idea of layout and to see if i could communicate the word size using different fonts.

The second word for the line below was hybrid.

The original used two types in one letter and i thought it communicated the work well but i again played with composition and different fonts.

Duplicated

Picture above of the final for Duplicate. Photo quality isn't to good. I think the concept was the using the link between duplicate and the v-mail. I could of maybe produced the final neater. The photo could of been been used with an overhead projector so you can read the information on the acetate .

The above picture is trying to communicate the word layer using type. I think it looks good on the photo but doesn't say layer straight away, probably use a different idea to make it more obvious.

I was happy with the outcomes i think that this exercise was really good to make you think how to relate the layout and composition of the type to an image.
